Pistol Permit Class FAQs
Find answers to common questions about our pistol permit class. Need more help? Call or text us.
How much is the class?
$150 per person. A $50 deposit reserves your seat; the remaining balance is due on class day. Want to add the Utah non-resident permit (carry in 30+ states)? It’s just $55 more — tell your instructor on class day.
What if I have no experience with firearms?
This class is designed for complete beginners. You do not need any experience at all — we teach safe handling from the ground up in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Do I need to bring anything?
No. We supply everything needed for the classroom and live-fire portions: firearms, ammunition, targets, and eye and ear protection. You cannot bring your own firearm — everything is provided.
How long is the class?
8 hours, including the live-fire portion at Wolf’s Indoor Range in Bristol the same day. Travel to the range from the classroom is required.
How old do I need to be?
You must be at least 21 years old to apply for the CT pistol permit or MA LTC.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. You can reschedule once at no cost with at least 24 hours’ notice before your class. Just call or text us and we’ll move you to a date that works.
I had a permit in the past — do I still need the class?
Yes. Whether your permit expired, or you’re military or police, the state requires the full class including live fire to issue your certificate.
Can I fly with a firearm?
Flying with a firearm is possible, but TSA and airline requirements—and laws along your route—still apply. Review our Airline Policies & TSA Resources, then confirm current rules with your airline and the relevant jurisdictions before you travel.
